その中でもセミは長年土の中で成長し、やがて地上にはい上がって空を飛ぶ昆虫の代表といえる。その生態を長い間辛抱して生活し、やがて短い青春を謳歌して死んで行く様子としてとらえ、人生に例える人も少なくない。
苦労して成長し、地上で今まさに羽化して空を飛ぶ自由を獲得し、第二の人生を迎えようとしている姿にエールを送りたい。
