「～令和の御座～『薫風』」　「“Gentle Wind” – Noble Chair of New Era Reiwa.」

新元号「令和」の出典である「万葉集」の梅花の歌、三十二首の序文から引用した「松」「梅」「蘭」「雁（がん）」「蝶」「雲」を彫刻で施し、初夏の若葉や青葉の香りを含んだ穏やかな風”薫風”を表現した背景に、井波彫刻の代表的なモチーフの鳳凰をあしらった椅子を組合わせた作品です。

“Reiwa”, the new era name of Japan　（from 1 May, 2019）, has its source in the “Manyo-shu” (the oldest collection of poetry in classic Japanese). For our sculptural work, we took the original motif ideas from prefaces of 32 poetries, including “pine tree”, “Japanese apricot”, “orchid”, “goose”, “butterfly” and “cloud”. They mostly sang about Japanese apricot in the “Manyo-shu”. Expressing the “gentle wind” with scent of fresh and green leaves of early summer in the back frame, the work was completed with a chair carved with a phoenix motif, which is representative of Inami sculpture.
