「GUELEDE MASK (Twins) 」

GUELEDE(ゲレデー) とは、伝統的な仮面のことです。
女性への敬意を表すため、男性が身に着けます。
私達の社会において様々なテーマを映し出す仮面です。
今回私が制作する仮面は双子を表現し、ブードゥー教における魂、幸福の根源、富と平和を象徴する作品となります。
「ベール」をテーマに、異なるテクニックを試みることができます。今回、現代的なアプローチを用いてゲレデー仮面を復活させようと思います。

GUELEDE is a traditional mask wearing by men to pay tribute to women. Its express different subject in our society. The present mask represents the twins who are spirits, source of happiness, wealth and peace in voodoo religion.
Through the subject of VOILES, it permits me to try different techniques and this time I propose re-visitation of the GUELEDE masks with a contemporary approach.
