「ウクタンギラ・テクフィカ　うさぎと亀」
「UKUTANGIRA TEKUFIKA」

ウサギのカルルと亀の話。カルルは敏捷で利口なものの象徴であり、亀はのろいものの象徴である。 カルルとうさぎが競争をする。カルルは早いので決勝点につく前に亀を数マイル離し、追いつかないだろうと寝てしまった。亀は忍耐強く歩いて、眠っているカルルを追い越し競争に勝った。 日本にも同じ話があると知ってとても嬉しいです。このことはたとえ我々が数マイル離れていても同じ人間だということを教えています。

A story between Kalulu the hare and the tortoise.Karuru symbolizes being fast and clever,and Tortoises symbolizes being slow. Kalulu and Tortoise had a race.Kalulu being fast left the tortoise many miles behind before reaching the finishing point he slept thinking the tortoise coud not catch up. The tortoise with lots of patience walked past the sleeping hare and won the Race. I am very happy to know that the story in my sculpture also exists here in Japan. This goes to say that we are the same people if we are many miles apart.
